The Neighborhoods

Examples of the diversity of homes in the Borough of Collegeville

There is housing suitable for every family in the Borough. The highest concentration of housing - high-density single-family detached houses and townhouses - are clustered in and around the Community Park at Third and Park Avenues.

The oldest homes - including many victorian and craftsman syle homes - are located on and around Main Street. Newer developments, most of which were built from the late 1960s on, spread out from these two points.

The newest and largest homes can be found in the neighbrhoods in and around Clahor Avenue where the Borough meets Upper Providence Township. In addition, many new homes have been built on infill lots.

Many borough residents consider upgrading their home in the Borough preferable to moving and high property values make it an attractive option. Homeowners putting on a new addition, a porch, or a sunroom are a common sight. In fact, in the past few years two bungalows a few blocks apart have even added second stories.

The neighborhoods are connected by a well developed network of sidewalks, three parks, and the Perkiomen Trail. The Borough also has it's own Police force, and the Collegeville Fire Company - a volunteer fire and rescue service - is located here as well.
