Compost Facility

The Borough of Collegeville and the Borough of Trappe maintain a combined community compost facility on West 7th Avenue in the Borough of Trappe. It is located near the intersection of W. Seventh Avenue and Township Line Road. You are encouraged to take leaves, grass clippings, tree trimmings, Christmas trees, etc. (but no tree stumps) to the site. Mulch created at the facility is free to Collegeville and Trappe Borough residents. You must provide transportation.

Wednesday evenings 5:30PM to 7:00 PM
Saturday 8:00AM to 4:00PM

Daylight Savings Time (Fall) Hours
When the clocks change in the fall, the Wednesday evening hours are adjusted to the afternoon. Check the Bulletin Board for the Daylight Savings Time hours.

Winter Hours
During the winter season when there is less gardening and landscaping, the compost facility is open on intermittent weekends. Check the Bulletin Board for the winter season days and hours.

Who's Paying
For This ...Compost?

Cell Phone Towers. If you look on top of the water tower located at the facility you'll find cell phone antennas. Those antennas, and the antennas located on a second tower, generate income for the Boroughs of Collegeville and Trappe. From that income, the compost facility bills are paid off the top and the balance is split between the Boroughs and added to their general funds.
