Trash & Recyclables

Trash and recyclables are picked up once a week each Tuesday. Trash and recyclables should be placed curbside Monday evening for early morning Tuesday pickup. The Borough requires that residents provide watertight containers, each having a maximum capacity of thirty (30) gallons, or plastic bags intended for the same use. There shall be a maximum of three (3) bags or containers per dwelling/business unit per week, with a maximum of four (4) units per building. Commercial and Industrial properties must provide their own trash removal.

Recycling
Recycling is mandatory for residential households by Borough ordinance. Recyclables are to be commingled in the recycling bin provided by the Borough and shall include the following:

  • Glass food and beverage bottles and jars
  • Aluminum beverage cans (all colors)
  • Tin and Steel food and beverage cans
  • Plastic milk, water, soda, and liquid detergent containers (all colors)
  • Plastic containers marked with #1 PETE or #2 HDPE

All recyclables shall be rinsed out thoroughly. Newspapers shall be tied or placed in grocery bags.

Lost or stolen bins can be purchased at the Borough Municipal Building at 491 E.Main Street. Replacement bins are $10.00. Checks must be made payable to the Borough of Collegeville.

Bulk Items
Bulk items will be collected on an as needed basis. Residents are required to arrange pick-up and payment of bulk items by contacting Allied Waste directly at 610-265-6337.

Customer Service
The Borough of Collegeville's current contract for trash and recyclable pickup is with Allied Waste. Calls regarding problems with service should be made directly to Allied Waste at 610-265-6337
