Aidsand F. "Ace" Wright-Riggins - Mayor

Dr. Aidsand F. “Ace” Wright-Riggins is in his first term as mayor, elected on November 7, 2017. Aidsand has over 40 years of community, public and congregational service as a pastor, professor, civil and human rights leader and denominational executive. He served the American Baptist Home Mission Societies and Judson Press from 1991 to 2015 as Chief Executive Officer. In this capacity, Aidsand provided oversight and leadership for 5,800 churches, 1.5 million people, 16 colleges, 9 seminaries and a host of neighborhood action centers, retirement homes and skilled nursing facilities. On December 31, 2015 he retired with distinction from those positions, becoming the organization’s Executive Director Emeritus.

Aidsand also served as a pastor in California for almost 20 years. Known as “Rev. Ace”, Dr. Wright-Riggins was a mission pastor of 100 congregants and later pastor of one of the oldest and largest churches in Watts, CA which had over 1200 members. He continues to exercise his ministry as an ordained American Baptist clergy person as a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist and organizational consultant.

Dr. Wright- Riggins earned his D.Min. in Family Systems Theory and Organizational Development from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. He holds a Master of Divinity from the Graduate Theological Union / ABSW in Berkeley, CA. He earned his B.A. in the Sociology of Comparative Religions from the California State University of Fullerton. Aidsand was further awarded a Doctor of Humane Letters from Benedict College and a Doctor of Divinity from Alderson-Broaddus College.

Aidsand is now a 27-year Collegeville resident. At his “retirement” on December 31, 2015 he jumped out of the ocean of international and national public service into the Perkiomen Creek of local engagement. Having visited all 50 states, doing work on five continents, and experiencing the cultures of over 30 countries, Aidsand was excited to really begin living and working where he has resided since 1991. He is active in the Rotary Club of Collegeville, the Collegeville Economic Development Corporation and his local church. He loves historical novels, plays at golf and studies the trombone.

Mayor Wright-Riggins is married to the Rev. Betty Wright-Riggins, a spiritual director and adjunct professor at Princeton Seminary. Mayor Wright-Riggins and Rev. Betty have three adult children and three grandchildren.

Catherine Kernen

Cathy has over 40 years’ experience in communications and PR, and has held executive level and management positions both in the U.S. and internationally with four pharmaceutical companies: AstraZeneca, Astra/Astra Merck, Merck, and CIBA-Geigy (now Novartis). Since 2007, Cathy has headed up her own pharmaceutical PR agency, Kernen Communications LLC.

Cathy is a 20-year Collegeville Borough resident. She previously served two terms as a Councilwoman in 2004-2005 and 1998-2000, and is a past member of the Central Perkiomen Valley Regional Planning Commission. She is President of the non-profit Collegeville Economic Development Corporation which works to promote local businesses and sponsors numerous Collegeville family-friendly events, including the Community Memorial Day Parade, Collegeville’s Colossal Yard Sale, the Holiday House Tour, Rubber Ducky Regatta, The Farmer & the Chef Food Tastings Dinner and summer Movies in the Park. Cathy also started and oversees Collegeville’s Farmers’ Market, which is now in its fourth year and features over 25 local farmers and vendors selling every Saturday morning from May through November in the DaVinci Pub parking lot.

Geoff Thompson

Borough Manager

Geoff has been involved in municipal government for since 1993. Prior to becoming the Collegeville Borough Manager, Geoff served as manager of Hatfield Borough for 5 years, Assistant Manager for the City of Garden City, Michigan for 4 years, and Assistant Public Works Director for the City of Clemson, South Carolina for 2 years.

Hugh Braun

Hugh Braun began serving his first term on Council in 2012. He will be serving on the open space, and streets, roads and lighting committees.

Mr. Braun holds a B. S. Degree in education from West Chester University. He also holds a M.S. Degree in Curriculum and Supervision and a Principal K-12 certificate from Penn State University. Mr. Braun currently works as a Program Director and Summer Coordinator at the Vanguard School in Paoli, PA.

Mr. Braun was born and raised in Montgomery County and has served the community as a State Constable. He is a current member of the Fraternal Order of Constables. Mr. Braun is an avid sports fan and enjoys golf, curling and coaching his daughter's softball team.

Kathy Shillenn

Administrative Assistant

Kathy Shillenn comes to the Borough of Collegeville from Lower Providence Township where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Public Works Department. Prior to that, Kathy lived in the Central Texas area for 15 years where she worked for the local school district.

Linda Augustine

Borough Treasurer

Linda handles all the accounting and finances for the borough. Her accounting degree is from Temple University.

Louise Tulio

Louise-Marie Tulio has been a councilwoman since September 2002 and is in her first term. She currently serves on the Personnel and Public Safety committees.

Ms. Tulio is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University with a B.A. in communications (91) and is employed by Pope John Paul Catholic High School.

Ms. Tulio has been a resident of Collegeville for 27 years and resides in the Locust Green neighborhood. She is a member of St. Eleanor parish where she is actively involved with the youth group, altar servers and is an Eucharistic Minister. She is also a member of the St. Bonaventure University Alumni Association recruiting perspective students and Bona Athletic Fund supporter of the SBU baseball team. Ms. Tulio enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, theater and sporting events.
