Building Permits: Essential vs Non-Essential
Collegeville Borough is NOT issuing building/electrical/HVAC/plumbing permits during the Governor’s Stay-At-Home order. The exception to this is permits for essential or life-safety projects.
Examples of Essential or Life-Safety Projects:
Emergency plumbing repair (broken pipes, sewer clogs)
Emergency HVAC replacement (broken furnance or AC)
Dangerous stuctural repair
Repair of hazardous electrical wiring
Examples of Non-Essential Projects:
New Pools/Hot Tubs
Finishing a basement
Collegeville Borough staff will gladly answer questions about potenial non-essential projects but no permits will be issued until the Stay-At-Home order is lifted by Governor Tom Wolf.
