Collegeville Borough Summer Events
Sept. 4, 9 a.m. — 1 p.m. Collegeville Colossal Yard Sale at Waterworks Park on West First Ave. in Trappe. Rain date is Sept. 11. Over 80 sellers on tree lined paved paths. Playground for kids. Sept. 9, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. — Collegeville Borough Concerts in the Park, “The Smooth Edge Band” 80s R&B, Pop & Funk at Collegeville Community Park, 3rd and Park Aves. Rain date is Sept. 16. Bring a blanket or some lawn chairs, or just sit on the ball field bleachers. Bring a picnic dinner or enjoy offerings from our food trucks. During the concert, the playground is available for kids. Sept. 12, 10 a.m. – Noon–10th Annual 5K Hero Run. Packet pick up and registration 9 – 10 a.m. Please join the Collegeville Fire Company in a celebration of heroes! Race starts at the Collegeville Station parking lot at Third Ave. and Chestnut St., in Collegeville. Race course is through neighborhood streets. Registration fee $25. Oct. 27 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Collegeville Rotary Club’s 65th Annual Halloween Parade. All children, pets, and the young at heart are welcome to dress in their costumes and gather in Vince Raffeo’s parking lot behind Dave Schrader’s AmeriGreen Gas Station, 454 E. Main St., Collegeville at 6 p.m. The judging takes place there. About 6:30 p.m. the parade starts down Main Street to Third. Ave. past the viewing stand, where the winners are announced. Nov. 20, 9 a.m., The Collegeville Rotary 5k Turkey Trot. Collegeville Station parking lot, 50 W. Third Ave., Collegeville. Race registration begins at 8 a.m., race begins at 9 a.m. and winds through Collegeville. This annual fundraiser supports The Daily Bread Community Food Pantry. July 14, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. – Tim Williams free “Music in the Park” concert http://timwilliams.com/ at Anderson Farm Park Amphitheatre, 499 Hopwood Road, Collegeville. Bring your blankets or chairs and join us for great performances and fun all summer long!
July 21, 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. — Free Library Program, “A History of Hip Hop with Illstyle & Peace” at Anderson Farm Park, Upper Prov Community Center, 499 Hopwood Road, Collegeville. Bring a blanket or chair. The speakers will explain the history of hip-hop dance and perform a variety of dance styles. The audience will also learn about the role of the DJ, Beatboxer, and MC. At the end of the program, a few audience members will be invited on stage to perform some moves. This is a fun and high-energy show you won’t want to miss! Join the group at the pavilion to learn about the moon and about the wildlife that comes out at night.
