Sunday Morning Incident Near Ursinus Campus
At 2:15 am Sunday, Nov. 17, three young white men wearing ski masks jumped out of a silver Honda (possibly an Accord with PA plates) and grabbed an Ursinus student’s arm as the student was walking up 6th Avenue toward Main Street. The men were laughing and shouted an expletive. They let the student go and drove away after the student called for help. The three men were described as tall and skinny, and possibly college-aged.
This seems to have been an isolated incident. Because it occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, we don’t believe that it impacts the safety of Collegeville families. That said, it is always good practice for everyone to be aware of their surroundings when out in the community.
The Collegeville police are actively investigating this incident. They ask that anyone with information on the vehicle or the young men involved to please contact them at (610) 489-9332.
