Community Service: Marion currently advises Circle K, Bridges International both student run service organizations as well as Miss West Chester University.  Marion is a former Board Member for The Children’s Home of York, which has several branches in PA.

About: Marion McKinney was elected in 2017; she describes herself as a lifelong learner, embracing every experience as a growth opportunity, serving the Borough has provided many of those opportunities. She served as council president (January 2018- December 2019). Her Current Committee Assignments are: Budget and Finance, Streets, Roads and Safety, CTMA (Chair), Public Works, (Vice-Chair)

She is a two-time alumna of West Chester University. She earned her B.S. in Criminal Justice, minoring in Speech Communications and German, and her M.S. in Higher Education Counseling.  Marion has worked in Higher Education for 28 years, 22 of those years at West Chester University. She was recently promoted to Senior Director of Residence Life and Housing Services.  As Senior Director, Marion provides vision and strategic direction for all aspects of Residence Life and Housing Services. She provides leadership and oversight of a multi-faceted programming operation and provides fiscal management utilizing multiple budget outlets to support programming endeavors and building revitalization and renovation.

Marion is skilled in public speaking, conflict mediation and resolution, and restorative justice practices that she uses daily with college students, parents of college students, family, and friends.

She currently serves as Faculty/Staff Advisor for the Miss West Chester University organization, whose winners have contributed to changing their community’s fabric on and off-campus. She also advises Circle K and Bridges International. Marion has a passion for serving students and provides formative learning opportunities for students and staff daily.  Her work was recognized at a PASSHE Student Affairs conference, where she received the Suzanne S. Brown – Outstanding Professional Award.

Marion is married to Todd McKinney, who serves as Associate Dean of Students at Ursinus College.  Together they are raising two phenomenal future change agents. Their daughter, Taylor (20), attends West Chester University, and their son Morgan, a Sophomore in high school attending Perkiomen Valley High School.  They recently added a new member, Winston Oliver McKinney, who joined the family household on March 29, 2020.  The family enjoys taking Winston for long walks and generally just spending time playing board games, watching sports of all kinds, and learning new things. Marion has been a Collegeville resident since 1998, 23 incredible years.  Collegeville is HOME.
