Jon Doman Named Collegeville’s New Tax Collector
At the Feb. 3 Council meeting, Collegeville Council voted to appoint Jon Doman to the unexpired 2021 term of Kelly Taylor as Tax Collector.
After 14 years as our Tax Collector, Kelly made the decision in January to retire from the position to spend more time with her family. Our special thanks to Kelly for all the years she dedicated to collecting taxes for the borough while also juggling a full-time job and her family responsibilities.
Jon, who retired from YRC Worldwide in 2015, has been a Collegeville resident for over 10 years. Jon’s financial experience includes being Finance Lead for his church, Salem UCC, where he was totally responsible and accountable for the stewardship and solvency of the church’s resources. Jon also ran his own business, Doman Landscaping, where he handled all customer and business accounts, including contracting, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly billing and payment resolution.
He currently is Trip Chairperson and President of the MSA and Lancaster Ski Clubs respectively, where he leads a selection of volunteer committees, and oversees the annual planning, negotiation, and execution of all the financial contracts for the club’s national and global activities.
Many of us also know Jon from his tireless volunteer work over the last five years as a poll worker in the Collegeville 1 Poll at Trinity UCC Church.
Jon has wasted no time in completing all the financial and reporting paperwork and is already up and running as our tax collector. Residents will be able to mail their taxes to the same P.O. box as Kelly used, which is PO Box 26424, Collegeville, PA 19426-0424.
