We Are Seeking One More Planning Commission Member

This fall, we appointed two new Planning Commission members:  Karen Vitelli and Eric Pfeiffer.  Congratulations to both!  But this month another member is moving out of Collegeville Borough, so we now have one more new opening.

Any resident of Collegeville Borough is eligible to apply for the new open position on the Collegeville Planning Commission.  Although terms are usually for four years, this position fills the unexpired terms of a resigning member.  The term will begin in January, 2023 and end on Dec. 31, 2025.

Collegeville’s Planning Commission is an advisory board consisting of seven members.  The Planning Commission makes recommendations to Borough Council on all land development and subdivision applications submitted to the Borough. 

The Planning Commission meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. both via Zoom and in person at Collegeville Borough Hall, 491 E. Main St., Collegeville, PA 19426.

The majority of the Planning Commission’s duties pertain to the review of land development and subdivision plans.  However, the Commission also reviews proposed changes to the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map; proposed changes to the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinances, Comprehensive Plan writing and revisions, rezoning petitions, and conditional use applications.

The Commissioners are appointed by Borough Council and receive no compensation.  Commissioners are encouraged to attend education and training seminars which are paid for by the Borough.
