Preliminary data show that the speed pillows on Park Avenue are working. The Borough’s reports from the electronic speed sign show that the average speed dropped from 30MPH to 21MPH and the highest speed that 85 percent of drivers on Park Avenue drove went from 36MPH to 28MPH. The number of cars traveling on Park Avenue has actually increased from the studies done in the spring; however, we will still be analyzing traffic on surrounding roads to see if the pillows have impacted travel patterns.
